'' I'm really not sure why Jelavic is coming in for all this slagging off. He was brought in as a back up striker and hasn't had a real chance, he's scored goals and this level and if he plays then I hope he takes his chance''

Do you get it now KIA? Like I said, you don't have a scooby.

Ighalo is not a lone striker, as he plays with Deeney.

Alex, what about Ighalo? Not very physical us he?

Valencias at his best when he's running the channels, not out wide as a winger or central as lone striker.

Re: Your team Vs Swansea ?
I don't think Valencia can ever be a viable lone striker, simply because of his physique. I think it's a waste of time to try.

the way we play I think Antonio could do a job through the middle

Wouldn't mind that at all, with Antonio and Zarate working on the sides

Re: Your team Vs Swansea ?
I like Valencia, worked really well with Sakho in the first part of last season but I think he's an out and out forward.

When I have seen him away from West Ham at international level that's what he looks like to me, confident, quick and an eye for goal.

So I would like to see him get a run as the main striker.

I think generally players from South America need a while to settle and get the pace of the game and was hoping he would have really pushed on, I'm still hopeful as we've not seen enough of him to know either way because of injury.

Re: Your team Vs Swansea ?
I will be honest and say that Zarate frustrates me.

He is so greedy and wastes so many attacks.
I will give him his due as he is what I would describe as a "scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer"
I think Jelevic deserves a chance and would be more suited in a 4-3-3 formation.

The team I would go for:

Adrian

Tomkins Collins Ogbinna Cresswell

Noble Kouyate Song

Antonio Jelevic Valencia

Re: Your team Vs Swansea ?
Lets be honest every time he has been brought on its because we are chasing the game and have 3 strikers on at once....

He is here as reserve striker In case we get multiple injuries... Someone like Collins who sits on the bench and comes on and does a professional job when needed!!

The fact we have him is a credit to the squad building that has gone on....

I'd be more than happy with Jelavic getting a start.
The stick he's got on here so far, for basically having fuck all chances is outrageous.

Re: Your team Vs Swansea ?
Well his record was good enough wasn't it?

26 games, 1800 minutes and 8 goals in relegated side, that's 1 in 3.25.

That's not shit at all

You could say better than Valencia of course and Jelavic in 126 minutes this season has also made a contribution with 2 assists.

Hardly comparable to bringing an old Australian cunt out of retirement is it?

Re: Your team Vs Swansea ?
Point being that just because a player has done it at this level, doesn't automatically make it a good signing now.

Trust croe to miss the point

Re: Your team Vs Swansea ?
"Mark Vaduka has also done it at this level - he would be a poor signing too, even as a cheap back up."

Hahaha

Polite brings it down to his moronic level once more.
